Joan:
(Nods) I believe we're about to enter the new millenium -- the Age of Aquarius!

Greg:  (Incredulous) You don't say.

Joan:
With all the cataclysmic events taking place on Mother Earth, the Great Goddess is reminding us that we can go at any time!  Which means it's more important than ever for the human race to learn the lesson of love -- before it's too late.

Paul:  (Looks up from his magazine) You may be right, but it's God who's reminding us.  Not the Great Goddess, or Mother Earth, or what have you.  The God I pray to wants us to love and accept each other.  And we must stop pushing the fear-of-God down everyone's throat.  If God is love, we shouldn't fear him.

Joan:  My inner voice tells me that love is real, fear is an illusion.

Greg: If only this toothache were an illusion.

Katie: Well, I believe that billions of years ago there was what scientists call the 'Big Bang,' and that's when the universe was born.  All the upheaval is part of the evolutionary process.

Greg: (Interrupts, surprised by her remark) When did you start believing in evolution?

Katie: Oh, about twenty years ago.

Greg: You were in high school twenty years ago.

Katie:
And that's where I learned about evolution.

Greg: I was taught about evolution too, but I didn't believe it.

Katie:  I did.  And I think all the recent catastrophes are part of the evolutionary process.

Greg: Interesting.  You think it's evolution,  (Motions to Joan) she thinks the Goddess is doing it (Motions to Paul) he thinks it's God.  Talk about diversity.

Joan: There's nothing wrong with diversity.

Greg: (To Katie) You really believe in evolution, huh?

Katie: Of course I do.  I have no reason to doubt my science teacher!

Greg: (Shakes his head, shrugs, and says to Joan) Obviously we don't talk much.

Joan:  Obviously.

Greg:  (To Katie) Are you still Catholic?

Katie:   Not really.

Greg: Well, if you're not a Catholic, then what religion do you profess?

Katie:  I profess none of them.  I'm an agnostic.

Greg:  (Perplexed) Well I'm still a Catholic -- and proud of it!
