WOULD THE SON OF GOD CONTRADICT THE FATHER?

If I have heard this statement once, I have heard it a hundred times, mostly from theologically challenged liberals: "Jesus never mentioned anything about homosexuality." Those who use the exceedingly lame "Jesus never mentioned…" argument fail to grasp authentic Christianity. At the heart of the Christian view of God is the concept of the Trinity. (This is not a lesson in theology so hang in there.) The term Trinity stands for God in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each Person of the Trinity is fully God. They are one in essence with three separate and distinct personalities. (Note: The disciples were taught by our Lord himself to baptize in the name (singular) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. - Matthew 28:19)
Jesus Christ, the Son, is the Second person of the Trinity. The Son is in perfect union with the Father as well as with the Holy Spirit. They are never, nor could they ever be out of union with one another. Jesus said, "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30).
The deity of the Holy Spirit is also apparent. Peter told Ananias that by lying to the Holy Spirit, he had lied to God (Acts 5:3-4).
Now here's my point. Would the Son of God contradict the Father? If God the Father stated unequivocally that homosexuality was a sin would the Son disagree? Certainly not!
Remember that sodomy was an egregious sin. Sodomites were sometimes put to death! From studying Scripture it is clear that homosexuality is a mark of gross degradation. Any thinking person who has taken the time to read the Bible must conclude that God was not kidding around when He forbid a man to "…lie with a man as one lies with a woman" (Lev. 18:22). Homosexuality was forbidden by God the Father; therefore the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit agree.
The next time someone comes up with the "Jesus never mentioned…" argument, remind them that the God of the Old Testament, who destroyed the city of Sodom because of their wicked practices, is the same God who wept over Jerusalem because her people killed the prophets and would not turn to the Lord.
One last thing. Be careful to condemn only the practice of homosexuality. Hate the sin, but not the sinner! "I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them" (John 17:26).
